Saltworks at San Pedro del Pinatar

There is even still a place to visit the Saltworks at San Pedro del Pinatar. These are the true end to a real route along La Manga and the mar menor.

The saltworks were already exploited by the arabs, besides being an industrial facility, they are also a protected nature reserve. Access may be gained from the Molino de Quintin towards the Molino de la Calcetera.

There you may watch salt is made visible, or enjoy the view of the many different species of migrant birds that pass through this land in order to follow their breeding cycles.
