The XIX century has left us a great deal of architecture like the City Hall the Romea Theatre or the Casino all with remarkable decorating features. The latter built in 1847 is a must. Its foyer contains ornate wooden panelling and friezes in high relief with an impressive patio in neanazarite style.

The ballroom built between 1870 and 1875 in neobaroque style may be accesed though the Pompeian style patio.

The Casino has witnessed most social events in Murcia in the past century. The ruins of the ancient defensive walls of the city lie between the Palace of Almudí with its impressive columned hall and the church of the convent of las Verónicas now used as an exhibition hall.
