A different way to discover this unique lagoon is on horseback. There are various stables that organise horseback rides adapted to the ability of each group.

Description:

On leaving the El Puntal stables, next to the golf course you cross the countryside that takes you up to the Cenizas hillock a rocky point above Calblanque.

From there you can see the old Guardia civil station now transformed into a hostel and remains of canons and other pieces of artillery cast in bronze, belonging to the old forts that defended the entrance to Portman and Cabo de Palos.

It is possible to walk down to the coves of Cabo Negrete on a tortuous track. From the top of Las Cenizas you continue along a dirty track that takes you to Llano del Beal crossing the mining hills.
