About 3kms away towards Murcia a new road takes us to the emblaze de la cierva frequented by fishermen in search of trout. We may now follow the forest trail, either by car or better still ob bicycle up to Fuente Caputa. This is quite an unusual spot for this barren area, with a series of pools eroded in the rock by the water; an ideal place for a superb summer bathe.

There is an interesting cycling route around the wine valley of aceniche, surrounded by the thick pine forests in the sierras of lavia and cambron. Again on the main road, we ascend the carrascalejo mountain pass; this is a very well known spot in the region because of the rose wine produced in the neoclassical palace of Carrascalejo.
