Calasparra
Murcia Online Reservation
Towards the northe east the landscape changes again, when the rice
paddies of calaspara appear in the distance.
The visit to the town starts by the building of la Encomienda, which
houses the municipal museum, with archaeological and ethnological finds;
the building of el molinico with its Renaissance façade; the
baroque church of San Pedro, and the Torre del Reloj in neo mudejar
style with four faces which spread their sound over the fields.
Calasparra is also known because of its Santuario de la Esperanza.
A grotto dug on the rock, holds an image of the Virgin. The locals come
to the sanctuary in September.
