Cartagena Gastronomy

In the Cartagenan cuisine the best dishes are those prepared with excellent ingredients gathered from the sea: ensalada cantonal, based on salted and pickled fish dorada a la sal, lubina, grilled octopus or caldero a traditional fishermen´s dish made of rice boiled in fish stock with a kind of spicy garlic mayonnaise.


Other exquisite dishes not to be forgotten in the campo de Cartagena are patatas al ajo cabañil, conejo con tomate and cabrito al horno.
