Several museums may be visited in Cartagena. The Archaelogical Museum
is a building erected over the late Roman necropolis of San Antón,
with a collection of Roman archaeology, burial mounds, and mining tools.
The National museum for Marine Archaeology at the end of the road leading
to the Christmas Lighthouse, offers a magnificent collection of amphorae,
and a reconstruction of a perfectly loaded vessel.
The Naval Museum where marine tools of ancient boats are exhibited
next to maps and sailing charts. A complete hall is devoted to Isaac
peral and models of ships.
You may also buy traditional crafts from the area at the Regional Centre
for Craftsmanship.
Cartagena has always enjoyed a great tradtion in the manufacture of
glass and earthenware. There are still some muflas left where it is
possible to buy all sorts of pieces and plates all typical in the area.
