Cehegin

Cehegin is only 6kms away from caravaca another important monumental town of the northwest.

Though there are Argaric, Iberian, and Roman remains throughout the township, the city of Caravaca is the result of the Arab domination. After the surrender of the Kingdom of Murcia, alfonso Xth the wise entrusted te town to the order of the knights templars, already in charge of the defence of the Christian borders

The city enjoyed its age becoming under the Order of Santiago, the political centre of a vast territory that encompassed the Valley of Ricote as well as some areas of the neighbouring province of Albacete.
