La manga Islands
Further a field five islands stand out in the Mar Menor all of them
of volcanic origin. The Isla del Barón now privete owned; la
Perdiguera, La isla del Ciervo, linked to La Manga by an artificial
strip of land and finally two rocky crags, El Sujeto and La Redondela.
In the outer part of the Mar Menor Isla Grosa and Islas Hormigas. The
whole area is a magnificent natural diving resort.
Down on the seabed there are remains of shipwrecks, traces of vessels
of different eras that never reached a safe port.
We recommended a ride on the boat to la Perdiguera, to enjoy a bathe
in the crystal clear waters there. Boats periodically leave for the
island, from La Manga and from several other towns along the Mar Menor.
When on the island why not taste a peculiar moraga of sardines. As
we drive along la manga we begin to understand why this place has become
the heart of tourism in the area. Everything here has been carefully
laid out with the visitor in mind to make his or her stay as pleasant
as possible.
